they are stiffer rubber.
thus keeping the suspension more consistant.

Personally....unless you are doing other modifications to your suspension, ie stiffer/lowering springs and struts, I wouldn't bother with them.
The main advantage/benefit on stiffer suspensions is that with the softer stock rubber top mounts, the rubber compresses before the spring does, and the rubber is for all intents and purposes undamped, so you get the "bouncies" Putting the sti top mounts on there eliminate this, and make the springs/struts do what they're supposed to.

Any Subaru dealer has access to order them from the performance catalog, but they never refer to them as group N. Just as upgraded mounts by STi. The front ones are ST2031055000 each. Not sure about the rears.

Rear STi group N strut top mount part number is ST20370AA240. $110/pair from RalliSpec.

So will these work with turbo legacies or do you have to drill different tophat holes?

I recently purchased and installed STi group n top mounts on my 1991 Legacy Sport Sedan. Front part number ST2031055000, $113.00 from
www.subarugenuineparts.com. They don't have the rears, so I got them, part number ST20370AA240, $110.00, from
www.rallispec.com. The holes line right up and they fit fine. Late entry: I forgot to mention that the part number for the rear mount is for use with upper seat(perch)20373AA20 which is 92-92 Legacy and 93-01 Imprezza. The seat and mount are separate pieces. I don't know what the STi group N top mount part number is for the '91, which has the upper seat as part of the top mount.

also when oredering these you need to remember to not panic and think you got ripped off when you notice that the part number stamped on the mount is the same as the number stamped on the regular mount.
they use the same mold but different rubber so the old part number is molded into the GN mount.

Yeah....the rubber is much stiffer. Plus the box it comes in has an STi part #.

Imprezive--I have converted to use 92-94 legacy or 93-01 Imprezza springs on my 91 SS. So now the upper spring seat and the top mounts are separate pieces. The original piece was an upper seat and top mount combination as one unit. I'm guessing, but I think you can buy STi top mounts for the 91. Did I answer your question?

Yeah, I think that we should start a thread to collect the spring's and tophat's diameter to find out what works with what.
My brother tried puting stock wrx springs and shocks/struts on his 91' ss and the rears didn't fit. The bolt pattern on the shock was different and so was the spring diameter.

I thought that was a good idea several years ago.
