Hey there I am still very new at watercooled newer cars.

I have a '70 VW Bus and do all the work myself...

Now I got this 91 non turbo, and I like to keep my cars stock.
I really want to do a tune up and through searching around it is a lot less involved than what I'm used to (adjusting valves, set points, timing...)

Just would like to know what you do and where you get the supplies.
e.g. what oil/air/fuel filter, plugs, wires, did I miss anything?
oh yeah and at what intervals you change each.

i get all my stuff from the dealership.

the subaru oil filters are made by purolator and are believed to be the same as the pure one filter.

i have found the the NGKs from subaru work the best and they are allready gapped correctly.

i cant remember the intervals right off hand but they are all in the owners manual.

plugs is something like 35,000.

change the gear lube in the diffs and the trans fluid around 30,000. i like kendalls synthetic 75/90 gear lube for the trans and diffs my self. i also am pleased w/GM synchromesh.

the t-belt should be changed around 90,000 but it can go longer.

while you change the t-belt it is a good idea to change the water pump and replace cam seals and the main front crank seal and the o-ring on the oil pump.

K&N panel filters are good but i just use the OEM ones. i dont want to mess around w/oiling+cleaning the filter element like you do on the K&N element.

there is alot more to deal w/but i dont want to overwhelm you on your first day.

Cheapo copper ngk seem to run the best, and i like to change them every 15k, car seems to run a bit better and they're cheap and easy to do.

I know what you mean about less work... daily i had before this one was mechanically injected with points... i dont miss that.

Its a non interference engine, so a popped t-belt doesnt mean a dead engine.
