Found something really cool the other day

So I'm scouring the Denver area trying to come up with a Legacy turbo 5MT for a reasonable price (not $7000) and came upon something really cool. The city and county of Denver holds an auction every two weeks and auctions off all of the cars that they have impounded for more than 30 days. They generally don't have keys but as every we all know (or do now
), all you need is a VIN number and a friend at the parts counter to get a key made for any Subaru since around 88-89MY. Or you can just swap in parts to one you do have a key for or just convert it to run keyless. Anyhow, these cars generally sell for cheap and in Denver are a cash or cashier's check only transactions and you have to pay on the spot and put a $100 deposit (refundable if you don't purchase something and applied to price if you do) down to even get in, which probably keeps a good portion of people away. Anyhow, I'm sure every big city has a program like this. I found a 96 Impreza AWD L 5MT, and a 90 Talon TSI. I'm looking for a turbo Legacy though so don't know what they sold for. Denver posts the cars online before hand so I just check them there. They post manufacturer and VIN then I used carfax to check model. Once I'm out of school I am going to go and see what kind of prices cars sell for there (if I haven't already) and if cheap am going to start buying any older model Legacy's or Impreza's for parts and/or resale.
