NE1 know a MD State Inspection Station . . .

that could give me a by for my exhaust? I talked to a service station guy who said most of the cars with aftermarket exhausts fail inspections . . . any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a honda civic with air intake, header, and cat back exhaust. I passed an emissions test with no prob. If you still have the cat in you should be ok. Just my 2 cents

It's not emissions I'm worried about, it's getting the car State Inspected so I can register the car.

why would they give a hoot if you have exhaust on....as long as you have the cat installed.

I don't know how strict they are in MD (here in FL they'll let anything go
), but as long as you have a cat and a muffler you should pass.

Kind of funny, here in Ohio, only 8 counties of 88 have a semiannual inspection, and the only thing they do for out of state inspections is write down the vin number.

Maryland's a pain in the arse for this kinda stuff
I was told by the inspection guy yesterday that my car won't pass because:
1. it's too low
2. muffler too loud
3. piaa headlights (they don't "look" stock)
What a way to waste $50

You can't tell me that MD is worse as far as strictness on cars than California.
Maybe they are more against the LOOK of the car, but I don't see that car being a problem passing in California as long as it passed emissions. They may give you a hard time about it because it looked like trouble, but I would bet they'd pass you here. I have a hard time believing that MD would fail ya. Good luck on that.
