Max boost an NA block can take? With EM.

Since I had to stick the NA block back in, I am going to run it again.
I calculate a max 12 psi of boost with the 9.5-1 compression ration with 92 octane and proper engine tuning. If this runs without detonation, this should equal between 200 to 250 whp as 7 psi without tuning is 160 whp.
So, has anyone actually run over 8 psi on the high(er) compression NA block?

you should talk to the dude running the supra turbo. forgot his name. not sure how much he was boostin but he was using an N/A block as well. i dont remember anyone besides you also using an N/A block with boost. my hybrid motor is supposedly running 9.1:1 compression i believe without engine management. but i am using a turbo ECU...
if i do go above 12 PSI and intercooled (as of now i am not intercooled) then i should go to a standalone shouldnt i?

You should check the nabisco forums for the NA 2.5 threads. They normally run only 5-8 psi on the 2.5's. 12 might be pushing it. If the goal is power, then go for it, longevity is another thing entirely. The fact that you are running 9.5 makes a difference also. Either way, good luck

There are a couple of guys out there on NASIOC putting 12 psi through the Ej22E blocks. They are all intercooled, but it can handle it as long as you are tuned right.
But hurry up and get one built with some turbo pistons. I want to see your car at 15psi...
