is this normal???

When I start my legacy(auto) the power light blinks fast 16 times. no Check engine light...what does this mean? if I was throwing a code wouldn't the check engine light be on?

the power light indicates a problem with the AT transmission. you are throwing a code, it just doesnt have to do with the engine.

My manual button does not work. The light started doing this right after I changed the battery. My gas mileage is way worse than normal. What should I do?

fix the manual button, or take it to the dealer and see if they have the old subaru select monitor to read the TCU codes.

Yeah, that's a prize alright! Expect that price to go up in the last few minutes. I don't remember exactly what I paid for mine, but it was higher then that.
