I'm one step closer...

... to becoming a halfway-decent shadetree mechanic.

I already used this little puppy today, since I had to do Patti's front strut mounts (the left one was the only one that was bad, but I did both since that one will probably go out soon anyway - two mounts in 3 months, and because I now have to do an alignment anyway). Let me say that I can definitely say it cut about a half-hour off the time it took me to do it, which was a little over an hour. Trying to break the strut mount nuts and strut-to-knuckle bolts loose by hand would have taken me a lot more time and a lot more effort.

So yeah, I expect to get a lot more stuff done a lot faster now that I have at least one power tool

Those dewalt impact wrenches are great. I know a bunch of the Dewalt engineers who design 'em. I got my cordless impact signed... yeah I'm a dork

The impact wrench was $179.99, and the impact sockets were $46.95 I think. Tax and everything, I was out $240.

Even though I really shouldn't be spending that kind of money right now, it was still worth it. That was the first car repair that I've done in a long while that went 100% right, no hiccups or runs to get more tools or anything like that.
