at and mt ecu"s

i am in the process of an at /mt swap on my 91 legacy i cant get a hold of a manual ecu,but someone told me that you could use the at one by cutting a wire?? if so which wire??
read through josh's write up. it tells you the exact wire you need to cut and where to find it
