4spd atm cooler pipes

fitting a temp guage via a t peice to the auto. just going to tap into the cooler pipes where they go from metal to hose.
does anyone know which way does the atf flow goes. one pipe connects into the oil pan and the other into the side of the box. any ideas

top line is inlet to radiator from tranny.
Bottom line is outlet from radiator to tranny.

Meaning the top line is the one that sprays you and the bottom is the one that sucks.
Are you going to mount it between the transmission and hard line or the hard line and radiator?

i just put it in where the metal line connects to the rubber hose coming out of the trans.
as vrg3 then told me you need to ground the body of the sender for it to work. i just used a hose clamp to hold a lead and ran it to the body
works well

Cool! Are you using the dash gauge or a seperate unit?

got a seperate aftermarket guage. would have liked an autometer or vdo but they are a bit pricey here in oz. it still does the business though and shows correct temps according to workshop manual
