Hi, just back from the junkyard and found out there is an 98 outback in the yard. Most of the parts remain in the car. I am thinking to take some parts off this car.
Here are some questions and hope to get idea from you guys.
Will the Front and rear brake are better then our turbo brake, will it be a good upgrade?
Will the outback spring has better rate then the stock turbo Sedan springs?
What other things will be good to take off from this car??

I am thinking to take it off tomorrow morning and hope to get an answers from you guys.

THanks

Ben

The front brakes should be about the same as ours; in fact, the rotors should be identical. The caliper design is different (it actually takes the same pads as the WRX) but I think the piston size is the same. If your brakes aren't in as good condition as the Outback's, then you could take them as spares. Or if you want to be able to use commonly-available WRX brake pads.

The rear brakes are worse than ours. They're the same diameter but not ventilated.

I don't know about the springs.

Other things that could be upgrades:

The Diamond ignition coil pack, if you're using waste spark and don't have one already.

If it has 16" wheels and you don't, you might want those.

It's possible the fuel rails might bolt up in place of your current ones and be used to install bigger injectors; I don't know about that for sure.

I think the steering rack has a quicker ratio or better feel or something than our stock one.

If it has a better stereo than you do now, you could use it. Take the wiring harness connector with at least several centimeters of wire with it.

If its seats are in better shape than yours, you should be able to bolt them into your car. At least the front ones, anyway.

Thanks Vrg3, you always brings up good idea.
I will check once again tomorrow since I know they has 92 turbo there with all the parts still noone touch... I maybe the first one tomorrow...hehee.
My front caliper seal is broken, so I may take the Turbo one for spear or take it out to rebuilt for my car....
Should I take the rear too? My rear caliper seems fine.

Anyway... thanks again.
