I got the transmission squared away today, along with the wiring. I started putting all the odds & ends together. I need to get some more wiring loom & stuff. Depending on if I run into any issues, I might actually get everything finished tomorrow!!

I guess we'll wait and see.

hey let me give you a tech tip on wiring up split loom. wrap only the wires together with the tape 3-4 times then slide the tape into the slit of the loom and then tape the loom and work your way down to the wires. most people just start on the loom and work their way down to the smaller diameter wires but its not as strong as if you have the wires taped first. it also keeps the loom from sliding off the end. hope this makes sense lol

I got everything in. I must say I don't like all the extra vacuum lines and extremely tight quarters around that stupid resonator box.

Can someone look at the vacuum lines coming from the sensor to make sure they're routed properly. I know they go to the right ports, but not sure if they're oriented correctly

One concern I have is the O2 sensor. The back end of it is touching one of the wiring looms. Any commments on that?

I cranked the engine and built oil pressure. Everything's ready to go. I'm planning to start her up tomorrow. I need to go get an alignment since I've replaced lots of stuff on the front end.

Any recommendations for initial start up procedures? Like keep the rpms at a certain point....etc...etc.

I'm going to let it warm up, check for leaks, and all that good stuff.....then I have to take it to the alignment shop before I can go for a break in drive.

One other thing. Is the over flow resevoir different on the turbo models. The hose coming from the coolant tank doesn't seem to be long enough to fit properly.

No AC Josh? I would think you'd want one down there.

AC will be going back in. I just need to mount the intercooler radiators first before I put in the condensor. I still need some fittings to make everything work.

The vacuum hoses look fine, assuming the restrictor is present in the bleed hose. It's not that many hoses, and they all pretty much make sense when you get used to it.

The oxygen sensor bung does seem to be a little thicker than the stock one... It's probably not a big deal that the back of the sensor's contacting the harness, but if you can reroute the harness at all to avoid the problem that may be desirable. Machining the bung down a little (it looks like they just welded a full-size nut on, so there should be plenty of extra threads) might be cool, but would require removing the downpipe.

If you don't care to have 100% OEM parts, you can just extend the overflow hose with almost any ol' 5/16" hose.

I'm not machining anything on that down pipe. It's the big harness coming through the firewall. You can sort of see it in the pics above. I'll have to see what I can do to try and persuade it away from touching the O2 sensor.

I dare you to break it in like me!!!!! Drive around in 2nd, wrap it up to about 55 mph (5-6k rpm) and let off while still in gear. Repeat many times.

Then I race around town in school zones and run over the elderly.
