Well its in NJ so I'm driving about 4 hours from providence to go pick it up. The body looks like its in excellent condition and the guy said that everything is running very well. I'm a little concerned about the 154k miles on the 4eat but he assured me that everything "seemed" ok. It has a clean title and I lowballed the guy expecting him to meet me half way but he took the lowball price. I plan on taking jack stands and a jack to raise the car off the ground and check the awd. Going to eventually put all tyhe goodies from my current tleg into the new one and part out the old one. or just do a even swap and keep them both. wish me luck!

well I just ran a carfax and I'm a little confused. This came up:

Exceeds Mechanical Limits - A vehicle with a 5-digit odometer cannot accurately track mileage after 99,999 miles because the odometer rolls over. This title is the result of a seller certifying under the Truth-in-Mileage Act, that the odometer reading EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS of the odometer.

we dont have a 5-digit odometer so I'm confused. What do you think? buy or no buy? The rollback check came back ok. I'm guessing the odometer broke and it had to be replaced or something.

Carfax sucks. It's only useful for things that are reported somehow.

I'd guess that means the odo or the cluster was replaced.

Carfax may just automatically report that if the milage is over 99,999 miles out of defualt, maybe?

... Jesus where do I begin. ok I'll start at the beginning. I went down with 2 guys from work that are visiting from germany. They wanted to check out NYC and since I needed someone to drive my car back I "offered" to show them around manhatton. So anyway back to the car I show up and it looks a little rough but the body def in better shape than mine. so the guy, who is not who I talked to on the phone by the way, tells me that they havent really driven the car too much and he thinks it needs a tune up. ok so I start the motor and holy shit. this thing was barely running. I think they took the CE light bulb out because there is no way the knock sensor would not be throwing a code. so I take it down the street and the thing wont go over 40mph. if I floored it it would spit and sputter and backfire. Basically the think was a total piece of shit. I drove it back and told the guy I was all set. he said sorry for making me drive the 4 hours and I said that the owner told me that it was running great and that there was no way that car would even make it to RI. he tried to get me to call the owner and see what they would do on the price and I told him I wouldn't take it for any price. I told him that he cannot sell that car to anyone. It just doesn't run. so I drove home pissed and now I'm drinking a beer to cope. conversly my tranny finally took that fatal dump and stopped working alltogether. I take it that the pump finally broke because it wasn't making that noise that its been making and now when its in drive and you step on the gas its slipping so bad it feels like its in nuetral.

who the hell is tristan? then again wouldn't be the first time I got a bj without a proper introduction lol. I'm actually going to Ct this weekend to look at another BJ, the guy on ebay was a total duech. this bj is pricey but its in great shape. we shall see. he has a regular awd wagon 94 I'm thinking about also, or instead but that would be a timely swap for my turbo engine. I'll keep you posted.

Ok well some of you may have seen the white 94 turbo wagon in CT for sale. Anyway, I went up there today and looked at it. This car is extreamly clean inside and out. There is not a single dent on this car anywhere except on the black trim above the drivers side rear door. There are a few little things that I dont like about it like the hokey turbo and intercooler setup. There is a strange looking rubber elbow that is being used to connect the wrx turbo in there to the air inlet. also the saab intercooler in stuffed in there with the coolant res. still in the original position. The engine bay is very clean and although I couldn't really verify this before buying it, the owner said it didn't leak any oil or anything. The only "bad" spots I could find were the front bumper had some stratches, the front grill didn't match the white exactly of the bumper and the hood. The car looks like it had the rear bumper the right rear quater and the right rear door painted. The paint looks good but you can see that its slightly yellower than the rest of the car. Who ever painted it also didn't take the rear mud guards off so it looks a little crappy. These are all things that you can only see up close of course. The guy sold it with some Konig wheels that I might be selling, they look ok but might be a little too nice for my "winter car". I'll be registering the car tomorrow and I'll get some picks on here soon. The reason for me getting this second t-leg is due to my tranny taking a dump on my silver one. I plan to garage the silver one and pull the rebuilt engine from that car. I will send the tranny from that car to get rebuilt/upgraded and then drop in the new engine and trans into this new t-leg. As for what I am going to do with the engine in this one I'm not sure. I might throw it into the silver one and sell it.
