old vs new style calipers

I had my front suspension apart the other day for an unrelated (read: stupidly bent a control arm) reason, and took my brakes apart to get a little more leverage on the ball joint.
Anyway, I pulled out the WRX fronts I will someday put on, and thought I'd compare them to my old brakes.
Here's the WRX bracket (which bolted up quite nicely) and pad compared to the stock rotor:

Here's the stock bracket compared to the WRX part:

Here's the old caliper:

And here's the new caliper:

You can see how the new caliper mounting is different from the old caliper. New calipers have two slide pins in the bracket, and the caliper bolts to that, whereas the the old bracket has one slide pin, and the other sliding piece is on the caliper. I think the change was in 98-99. I'm pretty sure that any old caliper can be put on any old caliper bracket, and new calipers go on new caliper brackets. Anyway, I suppose a lot of people already knew this, but I'm bored and thought I'd type it all out with pictures.
Reason they're not on yet is that I'm doing the "h6" rear brakes as well. You know, to balance out the bias of the wrx fronts. I got all the calipers and Axxis Ulitmate pads on the cheap and some goodridge ss lines for practically free, but I still need a bunch of stuff that's going to cost more money:
-rotors all around
-rear brackets
-rear slide pins and dust boots
-shims and two front clips
-bolts that attach the calipers to the brackets
Until then I bought some cheap front pads.
