What headers will fit . . . ?

I'm in the planning stages of getting headers for my '93 ss. I tried searching but I'm a bit confused. So . . .
1--Do ALL headers made for wrx's fit our 2.2 engines?
2--Do headers made for STi's fit our 2.2 heads?
3--If I swap in 2.5 DOHC or SOHC heads in the future, will the same headers fit?
4--Which ones should I stay away from?
Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure all the exhaust ports are the same on the various heads...
I know for sure that WRX / STi headers will work on our cars, I'm running a set of SS race headers (not sure of brand, got 'em on Ebay for $250) wrapped w/ heat wrap. Only downside is they significantly alter the SOUND of the exhaust, boxer growl is gone, replaced by something more akin to what you hear coming from Solberg's rally car. Installation was OK, hardest part was removing old heat shields... make sure to have new studs and SS nuts on hand. Other issue is changing oil filter is a little harder, and heat wrap smokes like a bastard where it soaks up oil until burned off.
Hard to say what performance is gained, as I put in a TD-05 at the same time. You'll also notice, as with most thin-walled headers, a slight increase in noise from the engine, as you can hear the exhaust pulse through the pipe.

Yes to questions 1-3.

Thanks guys!
So, Aerotech, you've got equal length headers? Can you describe the difference before and after installing the td05 and headers?
I couldn't find an audio/video of Solberg's rally car. I'd like to hear how it sounds. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

The car really responded well to the td05 and the header... this is in addition to 3-in wastegate-back pipes and TMIC (ver 2/3 JDM) already on the car. No noticeable increase in lag off the line, but the boost hit is smoother, less of an off/on neck snap, more progressive. It also now pulls hard all the way to redline, where the stock turbo definitely ran out of breath around 4500 rpm. I'm running about 12psi.
As for hearing Solberg's ride, I'd been watching the rally coverage on Speed religiously...

Thanks for the reply, Aerotech.
Hmmm, I don't have Speed so now I'll have to go find a friend who's got access to it. Thanks for that lead!

They will make the car sound like a loud N/A Subaru with something stuck in the exhaust pipe.
N/A's already have nearly equal length headers. The "boxer growl" is known mostly from turbo Subaru's. N/A's generally don't sound as nasty. Equal length headers generally bump power more than unequal length...

I noticed that the exhaust ports on the wrx heads are quite a bit bigger than the ej22t ports. Do you think it effects the low end torque? I don't have any wrx headers to compare to the ej22t headers.
