Howdy, I'm a n00b :smt040 I've been reading all about t3h turbo legacy's and figured that I would post up. I spend most my time at wrxfanatics.com.
Instead of starting two threads, I thought that I would merge them into one. I was in a terrible accident with my prior 04 STi, the car was totalled. Three months later (two weeks ago) I picked up this 04' STi with $20k into mods. It is so nice that I decided to spend a few hundred dollars more on a turbo legacy than on a set of winter wheels/tires. I will be picking up a 92' SS for my winter car next week. :smt026

Here is t3h mod list.
Power:
Short ram intake
ZeroSports intake pipe
Perrin turbo inlet pipe
Perrin FMIC
Perrin catchcans (2)
Superzilla 55
Magnus intake manifold
APS tumbler deletes
GT Spec header/up-pipe
TXS downpipe APS single tip CBE
walbro pump
PE850cc injectors
Perrin fuel rails
Perrin underdrive pulley
Blitz SBC-ID3
UTEC w/ remote map
TXS tuner
c/f underhood scoop
STi radiator cap

Suspension:
Ohlins coilovers
Cusco camber plates
Cusco front sway
Perrin rear sway
STi ti strut brace

Driveline:
Cusco solid motor & trans mounts
Whiteline rear diff and steering bushings
Kartboy short throw and bushings

Inside:
Cusco 6 point roll cage
Sparco 4 point harnesses
OMP steering wheel
STi floor mats
Defi: pod, oil press, boost, water temp

Outside:
tinted windows
STi ver. 1 front lip
c/f mirror covers

Wheels & Tires:
Volk CEN 28's w/ michelin pilot R compounds

I know that I am forgetting some stuff.

It had never seen rain before I purchased it.

These pictures are of it on the drive home to MI from NC.

R compound tires are great fun in 3+ inches of snow. :-D

The GN is getting a major overhaul this year. Profit made from parting out the white STi is going into the GN.
replacing TA49 turbo (high 11 sec) with a Garrett GT6152 (low-mid 10 sec)
re-welding up the headers and ceramic coating them
new downpipe, ceramic coated
swapping out the dual 2 3/4" cbe with a single shot 3"
trans rebuild with linelock and a 3000 stall tq converter
custom burned chip
install rear Baer disc conversion
lots of other misc stuff that needs to be replaced on the 18 year old car

Current mods
TA49 turbo @ 22psi
poston crossover pipe and 3" downpipe
cottons 3" test pipe
flowmaster dual 2 3/4" cbe
40lb injectors, walbro pump, hotwired pump, adj. fuel press regulator
SMC alky
hotchkis TVS suspension with tubular upper a-arms
Baer 13" front brake conversion
17" TTII wheels with BFG g-force KDW's
alot of other stuff that I don't feel like going through

Love the Soobs (FMIC's on GD Type II's are h0tt!!), and God I love the GN. 91White-T will agree with me... he's a turbo Buick fan too...

That STi is the shit. Looks like you need to raise it a bit so it doesn't act like a snow plow...

Sweet GN. Torque thrust II's look absolutely awesome on it.

give me your steeringwheel!!!!!

not really tho

the new car is sick. everything id want a gd to be. how much boost is that zilla puhing anyways??? and arent you the one who had your motor messed by bad vivid injectors???

you might want to get some winter tires too. pilot sports are sick tires but even bmw makes you sign a waiver saying that they dont work when its cold or wet out and they arent responsible if you drive in thoes conditions

Yeah, that is another reason why the turbo legacy looks so apealing. :-)

I can't, what would I use to turn the car? :-D
Thanks man, it has everything that I wanted for my STi, short of a GT35R kit. WRB isn't my favorite color, but with all the aftermarket I couldn't turn the car down. I know that if I did, I would be kicking myself for not picking it up.
Yeah, my white STi was the one that had the origional motor destroyed by Agency Power aka Vivid Racing fuel injectors when I bought perrins.
I think that the car is running 22-23psi on 100 octane. The guy I bought the car from was absolutely loaded. I mean, multi-millionaire style. He only ran 100 in the car and that is what it was tuned for. So next spring the car should have a GT35R on it with a SMC alky kit and I am going to have Jorge tune it for 93.
The car isn't going to be driven at all in the winter. Well, maybee around the block. But the tires should be fine for summer only. I also have the oem 17's from my white car with RE070's if I want to run em.

Jorge is a kickass tuner, I've never heard anything bad about him!!!

If I had money, I'd be talking with him about stuff...and maybe riding in his car :-D

I liked your white STi for looks, but man, the WRB is amazingly modded...100 octane..*whew* expensive.

dude ill trade you my suede sparco wheel. its blue to match your car

why 35r??? i can understand but you already have a zillla with a 55 lb wheel. thats just about as good as a 35r minus the ball bearings. i can see the want but if i already had a sz55 i couldnt see the reason. thats just me.

hmm... I might have to ponder about the Sparco wheel. What style is it?
420awhp on 93 and an easy 450awhp on 93 with alky. Both with a concervative tune. Where the Zilla would need a more aggressive tune and higher octane levels to do the same levels. I also do cross country road rallies, so I need a turbo that will hold hard untill redline, where the suby exhaust side is too small. Besides, the guys at ultimate racing gave me a quote that I couldn't refuse. With selling the parts on the car (intake components, exhaust components, turbo, etc.) the kit will run me about $400 untuned. :-D

Yeah, I spend waaay too much time over there. But it is a good, friendly place to hang out.
wiscon_mark wrote:I liked your white STi for looks, but man, the WRB is amazingly modded...100 octane..*whew* expensive.
Thanks man, but the white one was no slouch either.
Axis stage II motor, GT30-12 turbo, APS short ram, Perrin turbo inlet pipe, APS DR650, 816 injectors, pump, header, invidia dp, JIC full titanium cbe, spec stage II clutch, hawk pads, powerslot brakes, UTEC, Greddy type RS bov, TXS mbc, grounding mod, I know that I'm forgetign things. With a horrible tune it put down 341awhp, full boost hit at 5k. Stock I ran a 13.2@101, with this set up I ran .1 seconds faster and trapped 9mph faster. The turbo was laggy as h3ll. Took out quite a few cars on the highway though (i.e. LS1's, LS2's, M3, 350Z's, etc).

the zilla should hold to red but if your doing road rallies than a 35r could be good. that and the price. i didnt think it would be that cheap. are you getting the 44mm wastegate adn top mount or front mount??

if you were drag racing id stick with the sz55 but since your not please procede

im not sure on the style. ill take a pic of it later to show ya

Yeah, I gotta be able to beat up on highway cars with t3h awd goodness. I have a supercharged NSX owners very scared. :-D Last year we hauled stuff for him because it wouldn't fit in his "trunk"
I will proably go with the tial 38mm and the guys at UR said that they would make me some custom pipes to use my DR650. Since the car won't see snow, I am not going to go the TMIC route.
I like to drag, but not as much as road rallies.

sweet. just one thing to note, if you dont know already that is, if you do a 38mm and open dump, it makes a ton of noise from it working so hard. something akin to the sound heard when cleaning yourself off with an air compressor where a 44 will have a bit more flutter.

i would have thought that a guy with an nsx would have been smart enough to fit is stuff being its his car adn should know better

I am sorry, I was wrong in the previous thread. It is a tial 44 with the UR kit.
Here is a link to the system I am lookin at.
http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Products ... age4.shtml
There were two guys in the NSX and when the top was off, they couldn't fit all their stuff (week long road rally).

Glad to see you back around Art.
