Hello Legacy Central

I just picked up a couple of 90 Legacys for $300 each(Gotta love craigslist). I bought an AWD wagon to swap the motor into a VW Bug. It had a glazed disc, but otherwise ran very well. But then I needed something to drive right away and bought a FWD sedan that ran, but made all kinds of noises. I figured I'd drive that for awhile until the motor died and then swap in a JDM turbo motor. After thoroughly checking out the sedan, I decided to just go ahead and swap the motor from the wagon into it and call it good. Shortly after, I got sick of the tires spinning and torque steer, so I pulled the AWD drivetrain(as well as a dozen or so other things) off the wagon and put it on the sedan. So now I have a very good running AWD sedan and a bunch of parts leftover. I'll probably go for the turbo motor around the summertime, so I'll have some time to research it and save some $$$. This is my third Legacy and I've also had a couple of SVXs, one of which I converted to 5 spd. I wouldn't mind putting an EG33 in the sedan, but having a front end on the car is probably more important. It's going to be a plain Jane sleeper so I won't be going for any exterior enhancements(sure I say that now). I'll try to save that for my next SVX. I'd have to say that I'm surprised at how quick this sedan is. It must be one of the lightest ones since it is equipped with power nothing. Well I guess steering and brakes. I'll have to put the G-Tech on it and see what it does. Oh well, just wanted to say 'hello' as this is my first post.

Awesome! Ann EG33 Legacy would make a nice occasional beater/fun car. My L wagon was pretty quick until about 180k when it became just decent. Back around 150k it was as quick as my 2.3 Mazda 3 with more torque in gear.

Thanks for the welcome. I think I'll be picking up another sedan for the turbo swap. I'll keep my daily driver the way it is now so I'll have something to drive during the swap and have an MPG car for most of my driving. I keep seeing them for a couple hundred with a dead motor or tranny. It's too easy to collect these things.
