frozen suspension sound

When it's real cold outside and I hit a dip in the road the suspension sounds like it is frozen. This is only when I hit a dip and the car rides farther on the suspension rather than on a bump or hole in the road where the suspension doesn't travel as far. Is there a problem or is this usual? It's pretty darn noticable when driving though.

generally, when it's warm out it doesn't do it.
