Damn, I have an extra long block ... I should be able to get $2500 for it if someone will pay that much for a short block. Hell, I'll rebuild it and list it as rebuilt by an experienced Subaru mechanic and tack on another $1500!
Oh, yeah, I bought the parts car I got it from for $250.

Anyone who owns a USDM WRX is a poor sap...
The only WRX I would be caught dead in would be a 1995 Wagon

I loathe wrx's. The engine feels so yucky

The person that bought it is from the UK, so I imagine it's a little hard for them to find any local EJ22T bits. The seller did have worldwide shipping, which probably made all the difference in this case.
That's the only reason I can think of for dropping that kind of money on a shortblock.
Stupid question: was all the info he posted about the EJ22T true (especially that bit about the 22B)?

That price is pretty crazy.
I'm not so sure about that bit saying the 22B didn't have oil squirters. Seems like they put everything into those. I don't know for sure though.

22B did not have oil squiters. Everything seemed to be accurate in his description to me, but others here are much more knowlagable than I, so somebody might catch something that I have missed.

The Japanese drift WRX has a USDM EJ25...but on the other hand it was tuned by JUN.

Is that the one with the big cutouts in the rear doors to feed the radiator?
