Could you explain how the PCV system is plumbed in first-generation Liberty turbos? I'd love to know.

OK....
Top of the rocker/cam covers have one fitting each, a hose on each runs around the back of the case and joins with the rear crank breather at the top/rear of the c/case, (behind the manifold on the LHS), this then runs up to the PCV valve, which is screwed into the inlet manifold. Pretty simple huh :-D

Thanks.

But isn't there also a PCV fitting of some kind on the rubber elbow that connects to the turbo's compressor inlet?

I have a question. with out hooking up a labtop to watch the iac how do I set the big screw on my intake. I have a 91 ej22t. I also have code like air control soleniod, pruge air and one other that i am sure are tied together.

Are you talking about the big screw on top of the throttle body?

Technically, you could probably just screw the thing all the way down. Only the early legacies had them. Or just screw it down until things sound right with the idle.

"vacuum leak repair screw"

Gotta set that thing when the engine is warm. I did it by cranking it down until the engine started stumbling. When it never stumbled but idled within spec, i figure it's good. Really, it's probably best not to touch it. Sorry to hijack.

Yep......was wondering about that myself........
Why ask if you already know?, (which I assumed you did  )

I have already read a little about yourself.......

Actually, I don't know. Well, I know that fitting is there, but I don't know exactly where it goes... and there's what appears to be a tee fitting near the #1 and #3 inlet manifold runners, but I don't know what exactly that gets connected to.

It's the same as the N/a except the 'top of the tree' goes to turbo inlet hose, 90deg elbow, instead of the PCV valve/manifold. The others are the same as the N/A-described above.... Sorry...

Wait, I'm confused... So you were talking about the non-turbo setup originally? Does the non-turbo engine not have a fitting in the inlet tubing?

And the turbo doesn't have a PCV valve? I thought it did.

The turbo most certainly has a PCV, I replaced mine 3 months ago.

You have an Australian-market turbo engine?

That'll teach me to read the whole thread.

OK here we go.....again...
SOrry for the innaccurate posts....
I just got no time....
There are the two lines coming from the r/covers, (one per side), they run around the back of the manifold and join at the breather fitting on the top of the case, where there is a 'junction fitting'. One pipe from here goes to turbo inlet pipe, (90 deg fitting), the other goes to the bottom of the manifold, (under the throttle body).
I'm sorry guys but I'm a little over this topic....
There was a thread @ NABISCO that went for AGES and every system was different etc..... and it just got a bit tedious.
I will be specific in future.
This info is based on Ver 2, (my 95 WRX with Factory EJ20G fitted)
This model runs the TD05H with 90 Deg inlet housing, (no 'squished pipe' under the manifold  )!
All early, (up to MY96/95 built), Turbo EJ engines had this configuration and I can PROMISE that this info is gospel.
Sorry to muck you around....

Oh, okay, thanks for your help... I'll look around on NASIOC and stuff.

Anyone know?

Can you tell me if a ej20 tt out of a 94 bg5 legacy, will bolt straight into a Jap Import ej 20t , 1991 Single turbo RS legacy.

Looking for a good changeover motor

there is a left and a right nipple on the back side of the cam covers, they connect together and get sent in to the turbo rubber 90 elbow.

then you have the front nipples (cam covers) that meet in the middle of the motor and end up on a nipple that is in the middle of the motor.

then you have a back rear nipple in the middle of the motor under the throttle body, it uses a plastic F tube then one line goes to the pcv and the other agian in the rubber 90 elbow.

ok about the pvc system what line spits oil in to the turbo, what one needs a catch can? what one can i let breath with those little air filter things.

or do i not put one of those little air filter things on and make sure they are in factor spots.

I would not use the air filter thingies WITHOUT going through a catch can first. I'm running them on my car and I'm spitting oil all over from them. I really need to redo some things under my hood.

Bit insulted that you mispelled BOTH names....
It's Possum Bourne.....
ANyway, I am not familliar with the early twin turbo engines, just the stuff that came out here, ('02 twin Turbo Legacy/Liberty B4).
I am told that the 'other D/Pipe' wouldn't clear your steering column, although I have nothing concrete on this. Over here evrything is on the same side....Stg Column, Brake and Clutch Master Cylinders, Dump pipe, and gearbox/diff dipstick!! And there's PLENTY of room for all that!!
