Rodents don't have canine teeth, so it's not a muskrat. Shape of skull looks possum-like as do other visible teeth.

Back in those days the Suburban Trunk Monkey wasn't invented. So they had the Glove Compartment Opossum. Since cars were slower then, an opossum was fast enough. :P
