I most likely will be moving to the sound area within March.
My office will be about 15 blocks west of the Boeing museum of flight.
I am looking for a place to live- suggestions on where.
I was thinking of staying around Kent, but if this is bad, or you have a better area that does not make for a huge commute- please contribute!
Thanks
D

Kent will probably be cheaper, however the traffic can get congested around the south center mall. How far of a commute are you looking for?
My mom lives in the Des Moines area which isn't too bad I think.
Are you looking for an apartment, house, etc?

I am looking for a sub-30 min commute. ( as I will be spending part of my day driving)
I would like to keep rent under $800 (2b1ba preferred)
So either house or Apt.

kent and the entire south seattle area are industrial areas, with the exception of the nice areas, which are really expensive to live in. I'm glad you'll be in the area, it'll be loads of fun stalking you. I personally love Kenmore, and this area, but it is a little far, probably a 40-45 minute commute depending on the time of day you have to be there. It's possible to get a nice play for not a whole lot of money in this area, and there are parks and a bike trail running around Lake Washington. IM/PM me sometime, we'll chat, it'll be really exciting

i would go for west seattle. south park, burien, and white center are alright, but a little rough.
desmoines is a real nice place too, that's where i grew up. the commute will be pushing 30 mins though.

I was told to stay away from white center. I was thinking of West Seattle, but I figured it would be higher rent than Kent/renton/tukwila . I also figured it would be easier to drive north in the morning than fight the traffic south. ( I could be wrong) I could go for a 40 min commute but any more would be pushing it.
As for stalking me, lol, all I have to do to stalk you back is turn on my work computer and type away.

You're an LEO, aren't you?
In any case, I would recommend the Tukwila Estates Apartments. . . Rent isn't bad, the area is decent (although very near SC mall.) But it is up on a hill. A steep hill. Did I mention the young, hot, chicks? (You sound single, no?)
IIRC, the flight museum is off of w marginal? You'd be a short jaunt from Pacific Ho-way Souf, which leads that way. Probably a 20 min commute, depending.

you'll have traffic if you work in seattle and live in kent and work day shift.

my vote goes to u district or lake city area(if he can find a decent apartment) I'm sure through creative back road finding, the commute would be less than 40 minutes.

It seems that any place that has a garage and not too high of a rent is Tukwila/Burien.
SO I will be in the area Mar 10-18 looking.
And do you guys know where all the East side u-pull it yards are?

there aren't really any worth mentioning. There's a good one in spanaway(just south of tacompton) and a great one in Olympia, then there's a couple crappy ones in north seattle, and Aaron's

OK, I have been looking for apartments in the south sound area ( renton, Burien, Tukwila) and have also been looking in North Seattle.
I want a 2/1 with a garage option for under 850 a month. ( as the Legacy needs a garage)
Am I dreaming?
