comments like,"it drives fine but overheats because of a bad head gasket" are scary. $150 my ass. If he's still driving it, I will bet you the heads are warped and maybe the block too. And those phase I Ej25's give up their bearing too sometimes if driven hot for any period of time. That car is not much of a deal in my eyes unless someone was gonna make it an XT...

I paid less for my Forester.

But then again, mine has odd quirks. Turn signals didn't work this morning until the car was heated up, for example.

It was technically given to me, yes. If I had $3500, I would have just spent it on the Legacy.

When the HG in the phase one 2.5 in my outback finally went, it would not overheat around town. Only on the highway. I drove it for about a month this way. I just gradually got worse.
