Can vrg3's scan program work with out parallel port?

I am wondering if anybody has got the scan program to work without using parallel port. I have a parallel to usb adapter and use a dell laptop with no parallel port! Can somebody shed some light on my desperation!

No, at this point in time there is no way to use it without a real parallel port, and it doesnt look like there ever will be.

That is what I was afraid of oh well, guess I need to break out an old desktop to monitor the system its going to look funny with a desktop seat belted in the passenger seat! LOL
