Is the turbo master cyl. the same as in the STi? I was wondering if I could scrounge one and a pedal set from the JY to use with the 6MT I have on the way, or if I'll to get a STi set off ebay.

It's not the same, but it might work. You'd need to compare the bore ratios between our master and slave and the STi master and slave.

Our master cylinder has a 5/8" bore and our slave cylinder has a 3/4" bore.

The WRX master cylinder has an 11/16" bore and the WRX slave cylinder has a 13/16" bore.

The ratios of the WRX and Legacy parts are close enough that they'll work.

So the question is -- what are the bore sizes of the STi parts? If they're the same as WRX parts, you can use Legacy parts. If they're different, maybe you could use at least one Legacy part.

You have a junkyard with a 5MT Legacy Turbo near you?

There are five SS's at the one junkyard I go to. I haven't checked any of the other yards. I'll see what the bore is on the slave cyl. when the tranny gets here. I imagine a different bore size on either the master or the slave would just make for more/less pedal throw. Personally I like less throw, as I have my cable adjusted like that right now. But when people quote me $250 for a clutch mast. cyl. and pedal set from a STi, I'm a little hesitant to jump on it.

You can't get 'more' throw -- the pedal hits the firewall.

Less throw would probably be fine, unless somehow the difference was so great that it allowed the slave cylinder's tip to pop out of its dimple on the clutch fork when you pressed the pedal far enough.

Maybe ask in the NASIOC conversions forum about whether stock WRX clutch hydraulics work on a 6MT. If they do, then stock Legacy Turbo hydraulics ought to work too.

Well.....

My tranny came today (I ordered it on friday  ), and it has no slave cylinder on it. So I guess I'm starting from scratch on that. So yeah, I don't know if I can get away with using a SS master and slave, or if I have to get STi parts. I'll have to poke around on NASIOC.
