I am debating on getting a galant vr4, but I have to sell my 91 mr2 turbo. So should I keep the mr2 or sell it to buy a gvr4?

Keep the MR2. Those cars are bad ass. 200hp/200lb/ft IIRC. Midship. Sounds like a blast.

The vr4 is a little less common and so there's a cool factor to that. Having said that, the Toyota is FAR more reliable. And badass.

I wouldn't sell a Toyota to get a Mitsushitty
Although VR4's are pretty sweet

IMO mr2 turbo's are about as rare as vr-4's. Having said that galants are sick.....but when it comes to power/weight....mr2t's are crazy

I know of at least 2 that run 11's streetable in colorado!

What's the vr4 got in it? Any ideas to build it? The last vr4 I rode in was pushing 20lbs on some badass forged internals, and pulled so hard, I felt my tummy hit my spinal cord.
If you want a 4door sedan, don't let the busters get to ya.

I rally against a friend with an old Galant VR4. It's a cool car, but I'm not sure I would go there if I was you.
Pros: Very developed platform because its basically an Eclipse/ DSM. Lots of people out there know how to get the most out of it and there's lots of aftermarket parts to this day. There must be something to love about them if there's so many enthusiasts.
My friend built it up for dragging and was very succesful. Then he built it up for rallycross, which has completely different priorities, and took some overall wins at that too. Now he's building it for track days.
Cons: UNBELIEVABLY heavy car. It's going to feel as heavy as two MR2s. Also, as someone else pointed out, it's the same niche as an SS. Do you really need 2, early 90's, AWD, turbo, heavy, japanese, 4-doors?

No way, there were 2,000 Galant VR-4's sold each year they were imported to this country, which was only 91 and 92.
I was so extremely close to getting a 91 GVR4 for my first car, still remember that one's particular number, 1803 of 2000. But it had clutch problems and the guy wouldn't come down in price...
Probably better I didn't get it, or I'd never have gotten Patti

Thanks for the input guys.... a devil inside of me want to have both ths ss and the gvr4 together. Instead of being arch rivals...they are friends. I had the mr2 for about 3 years now and I drove only a couple thousand miles each year. Its strictly my summer fun car. My wife also like the mr2 when we go crusing on weekends. I guess I never own a gvr4 before so thas is why I want it so bad.

I'd keep the MR2. But if you already have two, maybe the VR4 would be new and more interesting.

Well I think that most people have indicated that you would be foolish to get rid of the MR2.
I owned and 93 MR 2 on which I did very serious engine modifications. I think just before I rolled it ,that I had dino 350 hp at the back wheels. Dino printouts available upon request.
But that's what was, when you get out of your MR 2 do you walk backwards, saying WOW that's a car.
Enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would so pimp a Gallant VR4 it's not that heavy of a car (about 100lbs more than a SS) ... and is pretty exclusive. I'd pimp a 3SGTE MR2 too though. that's always been on my list of cars to have. Maybe a GT4 too

but I've always been a Toyota guy with my way overbuilt MA70 Supra sitting up at the shop
