Does nobody know this or what?

I'd imagine it's plunger diameter.

Smaller wastegates are for high-boost. Larger wastegates are better for lower-boost. That's what Turbosmart says anyway.

Yeah, I have a turbo smart one now but the valve snapped and the guide was worn unevenly so i need to replace it.

Look at their catalog. You should be able to ID it from it's features (cap and flange style, 2 bolt or v-band).

The plunger measures 38mm but it looks like the progate that they make which is a 45 or 48mm

May be a knock off then. They never made a 38mm progate. They made a 38mm Ultragate, which is styled like the TIAL. I see lots of 38mm 2-bolt gates on e-bay that look like the progate.

The Progate is ONLY available in a V-band.
