For a few hundred more you can get a VF37 complete twin-scroll setup with headers, uppipe, downpipe.... no idea if the VF34 is worth that.

Hey---found a couple of sites at 875 US.--for a 34.
Nico ---couldn't get into your site.
Re- read the thread on the twin scroll 36--seems v. good , if the special headers are well made etc.
I already have a divorced DP so would the twin scroll exhaust flange fit
to that?

I pay around $800 for them from Subaru. Excellent turbo. Get it.

Kelly must be talking about the VF34.
The twin scroll VF37 setup is usually available from that link I posted above; occasionally he gets a VF36 spec C setup in, but it's quite rare. All the parts for these setups are made by Subaru, so you know they're good. I know of no aftermarket twin-scroll headers or up/down pipes.

Oh-- so he is bringing them over from Japan -- slightly used
Perhaps I should consider getting the headers and up pipe in anticipation of finding a vf36?
Thanks on the suggestion

I was speaking of the 34.
Remember your gonna need to change the oil pan with the twin scroll.

Yep, which can be had with a matching oil pickup for about $130 from a US Subaru dealership. Lots of newer nonturbo vehicles have them.
Other than that I think you might need a twin-scroll exhaust gasket set, which the same guy carries for $50 or so. I think that's the last thing I'll need after my parts come in next Thurs.
You can ask him if he'd be willing to sell the twin-scroll hardware minus the turbo in anticipation of a VF36, but there might be a waiting list. I got extremely lucky following a link on NASIOC or Club STi or something like that.

Been pushing this decision around for a week and I'm going for the vf34.
Simpler install for a good jump in performance. Also gives yet another performance increase to look forward to

---the twin scroll at some time
Now to look at brakes.
