Welcome to legacycentral. Nice Subarus certainly, and a great choice for your screen name. And I really like the scenery behind the cars, too! Mountains and beach... looks like beautiful country. Was the BC/BF Legacy available with a turbo engine in Argentina?

Hi from a long way north of you.

What is the name of the nearest large city, so we can see on a map where you live?

Thanks all of you for the comments, i love drivin a Subaru and i know i will never own another brand of cars. :D
I think my english will be better in future post.

Ultrasonic: one of my dreams is to own a Station Wagon Turbo, but there aren´t too much in Argentina, and they are very dificult to find.

I love mi user name, i think he is the best rally pilot ever seen.

Thanks all of you again, all of you love the raised roof and i wanna have cruise control. I am trying to find one and add it to my Legacy. Have any of you ever seen a cruise control added to a Legacy? what do you think abuot it? Its is possible?

hmm, just thinking about it, the hardest part would be getting the speedometer information to the CC unit. Hooking up the throttle cable would be cake.

Bienvenidos! Sus coches son muy bellos. Tambien me parace muy hermosa su pais. Es comun encontrar Legacies en la Argentina?

I have seen an aftermarket cruise control installation on a first-generation Impreza, which is basically the same car.

The speed signal is easily available from the vehicle speed sensor. You also have to tap a few other wires, like those going to the brake lights, tachometer, and clutch switch. The hardest part is attaching the actuator to the throttle linkage.

Have you considered trying to retrofit the cruise control system from a Legacy that has it? If it is hard to find the parts in Argentina maybe someone in North America can help. I think these are the parts you need:

- The throttle body
- The pump, actuator, cable, and vacuum lines
- The cruise computer and switches
- Wiring

The entire wiring harness may not be possible to get, but if you can at least get connectors to go to each item I think we can help you get it wired correctly.

You might purchase an OEM kit for an Impreza or Legacy, as close to your model year as possible, and adapt it. I'm sure that replacement parts are available, so you could get the correct switch that mounts on the steering wheel. For that matter, you may find a kit for your actual car.

I'm gonna ask my Jeep friend for more details about his setup... but the Jeep guys use a cable setup that attaches straight to their throttle body, and they will turn up the dial by hand and bring their idle up to whereever they want. They do that so they don't stall in the mud.

Needless to say, it doubles as a cruise control setup, although one with no safety features

Hi, looks like you have the same problem as I have.

I wanted to buy a turbo too, but there are just a few in my country. And that one that was for sale, was just sold before I could place my bid.

But very nice car you have and had. The 1981 Leone is beautifull! :D
