Sooooo....last night it was snowing really heavy and the canyon was covered in snow. The snow plows were having problems keeping the roads clear and to make things better, it was right about 30 degrees which meant it was the slickest it was going to get. So of course kat asks me if she can drive my car since we were going to town and she wanted to try. This was at about 10pm. She makes it down my driveway without too much sliding...then we hit the mountain road and she's getting on the freaking gas going at a 45 degree angle or more down the mountain so I had to yell at her to stick it in first and keep it under 15mph going down. So we almost whack two gaurd rails anyway....Then we get onto the canyon road and she's right back on the gas trying to do 50 mph on this road that is like ice. She ended up losing control and the car spun off the road and almost fell into Boulder creek which follows the canyon road very closely. I know she had a fast car before, her srt4 had the boost turned up a bit on it and her friends were always adding stuff to it. But the streets of vegas are a shitload different than snow and gravel covered roads in the mountains....End rant. She won't be driving my car again for a little while.

The very worst are women drivers in SUVs yakking on cell phones. Ever notice how oblivious they are?

People are the worst, most drivers couldn't drive even mediocre to save their life. And drivers on cell phone whether man or woman turn into blubering idiots who get pissed off if you manuever to get arround them. Not to mention how this exponentially multiplies if they're in an SUV. SUV drivers are the worst. I'm at the point of cringing anytime I see one anywhere in front of me.

As far as women go...Laurel, and Jamie Thomas (read: Subiegal) are the only two that I have seen so far who I think are good drivers.

AWD doesnt help if you dont know how to drive one.

I quickly learned this while screwing around in the short snowstorm we had the other week.

You know what annoys me the most though; people who hold me up. I ride their ass (close for me at least) and they don't get the hint to move out of the way. I do my best not to hold people up.

Most other drivers here in Orlando should not have a license. It was a female on a cell phone that ran a stop sign and totalled my poor 99 Saturn turbo, which had just been able to begin making reliable boost. I can't get my vehicles out of this clusterfuck of a city too soon...

yep, late 20something woman in a brand spankin new civic totalled my 88 xt6 by blowing through a stop light onto a major highway at 30mph

so she was ON the gas comming down Magnolia? INSANE

trust me guys (those not around the Boulder area), you wouldn't do that in the SUMMER, let along in a snow storm (and this was a slickery one)

yeah, I have awd. The funny thing is, my car isnt even fast right now. I need to relocate the airfilter in the engine bay and fix some wiring on the map sensor because it can't go into boost right now. Oh well, soon she will have her own car. She may become a member on here. In which case i would have to get these posts deleted lol.

I read an interview with Mario Andretti once, and since he has apparently driven most of the major highways in all 50 states, he was asked which state had the worst drivers...

He said "Florida, by a wide margin."

They hand out licenses here like they're f'ing cotton candy. I knew people in high school who kiss-assed their way out of even taking the test... and I tried as hard as I could to pass it perfectly.

As one who does 150-200 miles a day of driving, I seriously can't remember the last day I didn't get really pissed at someone on the road. This is EVERY SINGLE DAY. Just today, I was on a delivery, and some toothless redneck bitch started to cut into my lane. I stomped on my brakes and blew my horn, and here's what she did: she straddled the two lanes 2 inches from my fender, and then once I had slowed down enough where I was completely behind her, she continued into my lane!!!

Yeah, I'll slow it down in my subie, even though I could probably get away with driving normally (read: still slow ) in most bad weather.

I met Michelle at drivers training and we both got our SCCA Novice licenses. She could drive.

Also a great passenger as on some of the mad trips up to Whistler Mountain she would ask if it was possible to go faster.

Then M. got a 750cc bike and the summer rides up the road were fantastic.

Yeah, this was the girl that was selling just about any kind of drug you could possibly want. Apparently she was even selling bic lighters and those prepaid cell phones to the tweakers. She's been clean for a while, I had my friend pat her down before she got on the plane and I dont think she was too into smoking meth, as she's not going into withdrawal or anything so far.

Yeah, every single time I go fight the traffic here I come across at least one douchebag that tries to cause an accident near me. They do give licenses away like AOL discs here

I remember the morning I turned 15, I had just spent the last week studying the handbook and went and got my learner's permit right then. I was way more prepared than necessary, yikes. A retarded monkey could pass this test. And there were people there that were copying from others' computer screens, and some even just outright had their handbook out. Nobody in the DMV seemed to care.

My father and I had also been getting ready to visit some relatives in Jersey and New York, so we had our luggage in the car during the test. After I passed, my father proceeded to direct me to I-4 and then on to I-95 where I drove to us up to Georgia before stopping. My first legal time driving was on FL's highways, although it wasn't nearly this bad back then....damn I sound like an old fart!

Truth be told, we enthsiasts started at a young age, paying attention, backseat driving (non-vocally only sometimes), etc. We actually payed attention to driving, it wasn't just a "couch" to us.

A lot of people are completely clueless, it's really sad. I observed 2 other people in a class of 26 at my driver's ed. that had a clue about anything of the rules or the vehicles.

I will say that I had no points knocked off on me

The tests in driver's ed were hilariously easy. I think I got a total of four points off on all of them combined. I don't understand how so many people failed the tests and had to retake them.

The worst part is the people who failed the learner's permit test over and over again. Silly.

I'm also pretty sure that a lot of parents don't do the required hours of parental instruction. Not that it would help much with the way a lot of middle-aged adults drive (cellphones glued to ear).
