splinter says I post more in the ashtray than all other forums combined...
and I've been thinking about it...
I believe it's because nothing really goes wrong with my legacy (aside from the waterpump that just died) and it's not really the car that I modify.. at least not in the way that you all like...I've been modifying it slightly, but to go offroad, not go fast, because going fast isn't what an awd 4cyl naturally aspirated station wagon was made for
that and I love the more or less unlimited freedom of the ashtry forum

I tend to post a lot in the other forums because it helps educate me. Ill say something that I think is true, and it turns to be way off, and I learn from it
Or in some wild circumstances, Im actually right and my knowledge (limited though it may be) will help out someone else.
I do like the 'tray tho

well, the one thing with this board, is that it isn't very active anymore... I usually find the info I'm looking for with a search, and if I don't, I'll make a thread (doesn't happen very often) or figure it out on my own..
I got the timing right after replacing the water pump the other day... and I forgot to mark the belts, and I turned the driver's side camshaft a bunch of times...
didn't even have to get on LCO, and I've only ever taken the timing belt off this car once before
"THANK YOU LCO"

Speaking of which, if the crankshaft gear was off by 3-4 pegs, would the car still run ok, but get crap mileage?

well... it would affect the timing.. so I'm going to have to say the possibility exists... I could be wrong though

4 teeth? It SHOULD run, but not very well. At least it won't cause any collisions. I'd fix it, if I were you.
My Forester jumped 2 teeth. Idled kinda rough, and got like 18mpg.

Hell, we don't need a tech section to have a tech discussion! The Ashtray is just an extention of the rest of the forum, it doesn't really matter.
It's not like Nasioc's OT
