For uploading files to a web site? My bud just started our band's website and I've been nominated to work on it. I can do some coding but I really need to know how to log in to that beeotch first. I was told I needed an FTP program or at least a program that does FTP. Anyone have any recommendations? NE help will be greatly appreciated.

Here is some stuff from Kent State University that even describes how to use the software and the first link is where you download it. If you search the site you should also see something about FTP Explorer. The links help you set up WS_FTP.

If you need any help designing or working on the page, let me know. I do VB.net for a living. Well I started this week.

Yeah, WS_FTP is good. But you may find something like CuteFTP easier to use.

If you're using a program made for authoring web pages, it may also have an FTP client built into it. It may be under a menu option labeled "Publish" or something.

Filezilla is a decent open-source free FTP program that also supports many encrypted connections:

Manarius, that link is dead. I used filezilla and it worked well so far.

I would recomend switching your browser to Mozilla Firefox and then downloading Fire_FTP

Link works fine for me. So does the program.

Filezilla is too...bland for me. I have it and it's just underpowered.

SmartFTP works really really well for me. It's extremely easy to use and set up!
