not without crossmember modification.

If that's a 96, then it's not an EJ25...

But yes, it will fit. I think the EJ22 in 96 was dual port...

Look at your current header. I think 95 was still dual header ports. 96 was the first year for single port headers.

If that's the case, those won't work. You'll need headers for single port exhaust heads. Borla does make some though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that all Legacy EJ22s were dual port. If so, then you're fine.

Nah Dave, some of the EJ22's were single-port.

My 95-L was dual port.

I think Joshinator is right, 96 and 97 (and maybe 98?) had the single port heads on the EJ22 equipped models.

Not to hijack a post but I have the same type question. Will the header off of a 97-01 Impreza RS work on my 97 Legacy GT 2.5 DOHC?

Thanks,
Eric

It probably will.

Just need a quick yes/no answer..

Ok, so on my 92 n/a Legacy L it should have duel ports right? so any duel port header should bolt up.

Yes, your 92 has dual port heads. Any dual port header will fit the heads, however all the headers are designed to fit the newer cars which have different mid-pipe sections. So the header will not mate up to your mid-pipe. You'll need to get something custom done there.

I'm shopping right now. I think I've decided on either the OBX EL header or the Borla. Borla has the best sound, OBX might have better gains. All I hear about Borla is that they sound awesome but crack. It is apparantly fixed on the new ones but I'm still a bit iffy. The EL will change the exhaust note a bit but the clips I've heard still sounded like a Subaru.
