Hey there. As the title says, I picked up three of these in a junkyard and need a fourth. Maybe even a fifth. I'm in Central Mass. Let me know - jefflavery05@yahoo.com.

they used those same wheels on RSs later in the 98-01 run but in silver. maybe you could buy a silver one and have it painted to match?

I may. I'd like to pick up factory-painted ones, though, because I'm a bit of stickler like that. Who knows, I may feel differenly in a week.

You can get them new from Subaru, but they're $1050/set. I've been looking for a set of goldies for about a year, and every set I've found was hammered to hell :\

There's a set of WRX gold rims on ebay now.

How much do you want for them?

And a technical correction. The goldies were '98 only. The 5 spoke silvers were '99 only, and for 00-01 they were a 6 spoke silver...

Well, I'm not really interested in selling them - finding a decent set in a yard was luck enough! I have a fourth one in the mail from a yard in OR. I took a bit of gamble as it listed the car as a '99 - I have pictures, doesn't look like a '99. It's a blue coupe with goldies, so I took a chance.

When I asked them if the car was a '99, they said something didn't add up and that the wheels were showing up as a '98, but the vehicle was a '99. Something to that effect. Who knows. I'll let you know what happens, hopefully I didn't buy a spray painted wheel. I got a little rushed as I want them on the car and don't feel like waiting for a magical fourth wheel to show up.

The vehicle in question:

That car must've been hit on the right side. B/c it looks fine from the pic. What a shame.

98's didn't have the big fog lamps, their bumper looked thus:

Hmm, never saw one with the small fogs.

In either case, I don't know for sure what's going on anymore.

Alot of times, at least in my experience in the VW world, when manufacturers issue special editions the limited colors and options end up on later years. Maybe that's what happened here - but I have the wheel, and it looks identical to the others.

the 98 is a pretty rare car.

my guess was the previous owner just stuck them on the 99.

why they stayed on the car all the way to the JY is beyond me. they are the best looking 16 inch wheels subaru ever put out.

The car is actually a theft recovery, FYI. I asked why it was there, and that was the reason I got. Might explain why the owner hasn't had a chance to pick the desirable parts off of it.

Very little damage when I inquired. Apparently, lightly picked over.

They're in OR. If you want to know the number, let me know.
