You might consider doing your blowoff valve like we did on Matt's car:

haha indeed it does, yeah i got it running sunday and have been fine tunning small issues that have come up. Im in process of designing some sort of mount for the intercooler as it moves around and rattles a bit which i dont like one bit. Im also planning on getting a whole pipe to replace that intake so it doesnt sit so high and hit my hood.
Turbo sounds great, much better condition than that VF11 i had, thanks a ton stipro. Feels like im going to break half shafts now with the power
Now i need to find myself a cheap EBC and some sti injectors to go with these n/a fuel rails and well be talking.

Hey, no problem

. Just tryin' help a fella out. Iam glad it all worked out. It sure does look better in your car than it did sitting in my basement

.

Couldn't you just cut down the 90 degree boot an inch or so?
Michael.

What was used for the 90 degree inlet? Have a number for that Napa purchase?

I believe it was an actual rubber 90, you can get themwere they sell the silicone versions, for half the price.
If you were to use it on the outlet side its good to 15 psi before it has to be re-inforced.

I used all the stock stuff for coolant. The little strip of metal between the banjo fittings needs to be snipped off so they can fit closer together. That's it.

wow what a size difference. has the gas milage droped alot. it's a contest to afford gas. I get good milage now. would like a small power boost. like the size of the turbo. I will read on and see how it turned out.
be well and safe driving.

what would u say u get to a tank now 400km?

The 90 deg elbow is an HKS i got from
www.racerwheel.com for $10 with $11 shipping... Bastards... I had to trim it back a bit to make it fit properly but its working no problems so far. 60mm is a tad too big for the TD04 inlet but it sleves up on the turbo nicely and a hoseclamp does the job.
Where can you get this silicon 90 deg for cheaper?
The coolant lines i just used the VF11 lines and used a cutoff wheel to seperate the 2. The VF11 oil feed line works no problem.
As for milage between the VF11 and the TD04 i barely noticed any difference. I get about 18-20 city and 24-25 highway which translates to about 270 some miles a tank. Its been getting more and more spendy to fill her with prices going up. When i got the car i seriously got 160 miles to a TANK! Something like 14 mpg but a fuel filter and plugs and wires and filter seemed to raise it a good amount. I suppose replacing the shot wheel bearings helped a good amount too.

I bought my 90* from NAPA. It's a radiator hose. I just asked them to give me a hose that'll fit my turbo, I gave them the TD04 turbo and they came back with a 90* that fit. I'll go get the part # here in a bit, it's still in the garage. haha
I bought some T-fittings and 3/4" inside-diameter hose from Fleet Farm for my PCV and also the breather from left to right valve cover that goes under the intake manifold.
Here's how it looks like so far since last Wednesday; yes I put a lot of hours into this.
oh shits! which motor is it!?!?!?!!?!?
some of the dash work
here's the bulk harness that goes on teh driver fender
Custom 90* elbow for TD04 turbo
The trick to NOT BLEED YOUR A/C system
Crossmember all gone; what's that yellow stuff?
From afar....
it doesn't look TOO bad...
This looks a lot better....how it should have came
Here's one of my DIY mods.....T-fitting for the PCV valve.

You say you put breathers on your front valve cover vents that go under the intake manifold. What did you do with the center front crank vent? Have any pics of it?
Good idea on the PCV routing, did you just use a 3/4" to what is it 1/2" coming up from the rear crank vent?

I broke the plastic T-section where the crank breather connects to the left&right valve covers. SO I bought a 1/2" T-fitting from Mill's Fleet Farm, about $2.89-ish each, and 4' hose; 3/4" outside diameter, 1/2" inside diameter. I routed the driver side hose to the breather CLOSEST to the front fitting on the valve cover, then it routed between the TWO driver side intake runners and behind the alternator to the T-fitting. The PASSENGER side, I routed on the FURTHEST front fitting on the valve cover and ran the hose under the STOCK '99 L powersteering lines and behind the powersteering pump to the T-fitting. I lefted the factory U-hose on the crank breather; this one was actually on the FIRST EJ22T shortbock I bought, and it wasn't hard and stiff like the one that came on THIS motor, it was a softer rubber U-hose. I didn't use any clamps to hold the hoses on, but we'll see if I need them in the future.
Ya, the PCV hose from the PCV valve I think is a 3/4". Where I cut it, it was smaller, and the T-fitting fit it just fine, so I didn't bother putting a clamp there; I might in the future if there's a leak. Yes from the REAR crank breather, it's 1/2"; this piece was actually my STOCK passenger '99 valve cover vacumm hose and has a 45* at the end and it's straight the rest of the way. I took off the factory F plastic piece because it broke, used a SHORTER 1" hose and the NA y-fitting and covered up the fitting where it went to the PCV valve on the NA models with some JB WELD.
The T-fitting I bought at Mill's Fleet Farm as I didn't want to spend $$$$ for it at the Auto Parts stores. It worked out VERY WELL to what I wanted. VERY HAPPY!
The 90* for the turbo inlet is NAPA part number 7905, made by ECR w/ NAPA logo on it. I remember buying a NAPA ECR upper radiator hose for a '02+ WRX/STi and it costed $14 w/ the NAPA label. I went to Bumper to Bumper today and bought the SAME HOSE but no NAPA logo, just ECR and it costed only $11!!!!!! I might be making more trips to Bumper to Bumper for hoses and stuff.......no axles though...haha

thats exactly what i did with my front vents. I broke that damn plastic thing doing my intake mani gaskets.
Im just concerned as both the lines have started weaping oil. I used heater hose as i couldnt find any 1/2" vac hose locally

here's a pic of the TMIC Off. I'll be taping more of the wires later...in the morning that is. Isnt' there a Mill's Fleet Farm near you?
here's you can see the hose coming from the rear crank breather

hah no, closest is way up on 169 past 694 and im out in EP. Something like a 30 min drive in any sort of traffic.
I replaced my F pipe yesterday and it seems i was right it was leaking. Runs smoother, doesnt overspool as much
Also i took my chimney and cut off some of the back to fit around my bellmouth DP. If you put the mounting bracket on the back of the DP you can fit it WITH the intercooler over the TD04. Seems to keep my IC from heatsoaking much better than before. It fits by |----| that much.
Ill get some pics of it later today

that's not too bad, Mills Fleet Farm near 169/649 is about 30min from St Paul as well....granted the one at hwy36/694 is a bit closer, but I was in Minneapolis getting a radiator...haha
Well my WRX radiator came.

I just need to cut a few things and ziptie it on.
...awaiting pictures...

Not bad, makes me think I should have kepted the chimney as well when I pulled out the motor.
well...right now I'm looking over the wiring and doing a couple rewiring.....hhahh because I didn't look too closely....so HOPEFULLY I get to drive it this weekend

Seems I'm ALMOST THERE! I'm still thinking which wire I STILL have to get to......I'll post up an updated engine bay pic this evening.
Can't stop looking at it.....looks SO STOCK! lolz
