How do i adjust them. KYB AGX adjustable shocks.
what do the ratings 1,2,3,4 mean. Right now it rides to hard/bumpy i want to soften it up some.........on my recently acquired car, and I am not familiar. Is there a certain manner to adjust them, ie, counterclockwise, clockwise, etc, I dont want to break them, just make the drive more smoothed out. help please.
What are the secrets to adjusting them safely..what do i do, do i have to jack the car up to adjust...etc....
thanks,

you need a small screw driver for the fronts. gently push down w/the screwdriver to adjust the fronts.
1 is the softest and 4 is the stiffest.
pretty sure it is as simple as righty tighty lefty loosey.
no need to jack the car.
and the rears have dials towards the bottom of the strut on the inside. 1 soft, 8 stiff. the number at the center on the top of the dial is where it is set. there should be a little triangle/arrow on the strut body pointing down at the dial to help you know where it is set.
i have mine set to 3 up front and 4 in the rear on my SS and 2 fr. and 4 r. on my wagon.

yeah loooking for a ride comparable to the GR2's on my wagon.
also, think the springs and mounts on this are from a WRX or STi. it is too harsh for me, and my parents. handles good though.

set them to 1 in front and 2 in the rear. that should be good.
you might want to try to find some stock ss springs too.

they must be set to 4 and 8.
i hated drinving my wagon at that setting.
expansion joints on the highway sucked.
love my SS at 3 and 4.

that is going to be hard to soften up very much then.
are they the SPT eibachs that were sold by subaru for the WRX?
i think they were red.

according to the suspension stickyin this forum the legacy ss had these ratings for springs front and rear:
legacy turbo S................132..........0"...............132...........0"
and the SPT springs had this rating:
SPT/STi.........................217..............0..............190.............0
so they are A LOT stiffer, but they dont change the ride height at all.
you should check out the sticky.

great googly moogly. 190+ is stiff. well then. maybe have to decrease tire pressure too.
I think.....the fronts are set to 4 now. not sure about the rears yet.

yeah they are pretty stiff.
i would like to try a set on my car someday. but w/the 16" wheels it is pretty stiff as it is.
i think i am going to try some bigger sway bars before i go w/stiffer springs. much easier to change than springs.

it is riding like a go cart does when it hits small little dips. I like the way i can sip coffee out my mugs in the touring wagon, I wont dare take coffee in this 92 ss until i soften it up some,

one thing i forgot last night is that all eibach springs are red.
the rates i quoted only apply if they are the SPT springs from the dealership.

I have the prodrive P1 springs and agx struts. They are 215/195. So if you have the SPT springs, we are pretty similar in setup. All I can say is they will not be gr2 soft. Even at the softest setting, the springs will keep you from getting the feeling you are looking for. I've found that the AGX struts are a bit stiff on rebound. So I don't think they'd be as nice as the GR2's anyway, even at the 2/4 setting (which is sappose to be GR2 stiffness).
