highflow cat questions

what i am wondering is how much of a restricion is a regular cat going to be on a 3" DP?

will it be enough of a restriction that it would put me back to where i am w/the stock DP?

i am poking around over on boxer4racing and see that they have a stromung DP w/seperate wastegate tube for 190.

the catch w/this one is that it is only the short DP and you need to buy their secondary pipe for 350 to get a high flow cat and a bung for a 02 sensor.

or

buy the catless secondary pipe w/a bung for 220.

cuz 190 for a DP doesnt seem too expensive and i could have my friend rig up a 3" pipe w/a regular universal catand a O2 bung for a lot less than 350.

but if the gains from the 3" DP are wiped out by the standard cat i wont even bother messing w/the stock setup.

my long term plan is to add a WRX TMIC and up the boost a bit and a 3" DP seems like a pretty good idea to go along w/that.

or should i just go catless since ND doesnt test for emisions and i am a heartless bastard?

the cheapest option is do nothing, so that is probably what i will end up doing. but it is not what i want to do.

I'm a heartless bastard, so I say no cat.

As far as I know, a bigger downpipe will allow the turbo to spool faster, even if you do have smaller pipe behind it (or some other restriction, like a cat).

Oh hell. Don't even worry about it. Just get that DP on there and nothing else. That's what I'm back to.

so, how much of a restirction is a standard universal catco catalytic converter in a 3" TBE?

enough to render the benefits of the 3" TBE usueless?
