I currently have a 2002 Jetta 1.8t w/ a 5spd. I like the car but i miss having a Subaru that I can drive on a daily basis. The Jetta has 62k miles an is in good shape.
I may have the chance to purchase a 94 SS 4EAT for around $2000. Its got under 100k miles on it and appears to be well taken care of.
Should I keep the Jetta and the or give it up and go for the SS?
Thanks

I think I would get a discount on the vehicles but i really can't afford 3 of them as I already have a 92 L AWD sedan plus the Jetta.

I would get rid of the L and keep the SS and the Jetta. It's nice to have some variety and Jettas are fun cars.

From my experience, VW's break non-stop but that was with a 96 jetta glx. I'd deffinately off the L and get the Legacy.

I thought about getting rid of the L but that is my first Subaru and first car so I have 65k miles and almost 6 years of memories. If I can get the SS, I think I'm gonna get rid of the Jetta just to get from under a $300 a month payment and 12% interest, and within the next 6mos or so I'd like to swap the 4EAT from the SS with the 5MT out of my old SS.

We had a 2002 New Beetle blow a motor with 25,000 miles on it. 1.8T is a blessing or a curse. Depends on what day of the week your car was made.
If you want a really reliable VW, get a MarkI Jetta. If I could find one, I'd get one as a beater. Best cars ever.
If you owe money on the Jetta, expect to keep paying for it after it's gone. You rarely get what you owe on trade.

No really, get rid of the dub. I hear, and have seen, that electrical problems are total nightmares in those cars. You gotta remember they're made mostly in Mexico. Plus, you're at a good point as far as resale value goes with those cars.
Lose the dub. Get the Sub.
