A couple of months back I hit a patch of black ice and slid into a side walk wheels turned at around 5-10 mph. This bent my control arm resulting in the passenger side wheel now being shift to about an inch off the back of the wheel well. When I steer all the way to the right it rubs. Looks like I'm going to be needing a new LCA as well as possibly a tie rod and the vertical part connecting it to the wheel assembly, referred to by the shop as the "link kit". What's the correct name for it?

The vertical part centered in the picture is called an endlink and it has nothing to do with steering.

True, but it now looks as though the swaybar (where it attaches to the endlink) is interfering with the tie rod. I see what looks to be a rub mark on the top outer portion of the endlink from the tierod.

Almost looks to me like the wheel assembly got pushed back enough to trap the swaybar under the tierod. . . because that position in the picture doesn't look right.

crazy! It does indeed look like the swaybar is trapped under the tie rod in the picture.

This weekend I'll be hitting a scrap yard outta town that's got a couple of bf legacies ... what parts would you get based on this picture? I'm gonna try to take some other ones at different angles tonight.

Be careful when working on this area, Gus. I'm willing to bet that swaybar is storing some energy in its current state of being trapped somewhere it shouldn't be. Might even want to remove the tierod first, in case the swaybar wants to "relax" when released.

I just took possession of the car after taking it to my mechanic. He just had to replace the control arm + end link with the one I bought from a scrap yard over the weekend. No other collateral damage. 1 hour of labour + CAD$40 for an alignment. The ball joints are finished on both sides so I'll be doing those in the near future. Next on the list is the cracked windshield and a weird electrical problem I'll be posting about in the electrical section.

Well damn, didn't turn out to be too bad, then. That's great!
