RS-RA Longblock For Sale Maybe

If I were to sell my RS-RA longblock:
A: Would there be anybody interested?
B: How much would somebody be willing to pay?

I have it apart right now to replace the bearings. Everything else is in perfect shape.
After driving it for a year and a half and then doing the EJ22t DOHC swap, I think im looking for something with a little more bottom end.
So in other words, if I could get enough out of the RS-RA to sponsor another EJ22T DOHC project I would consider selling it.

Some more RS-RA info.
1990 EJ20g DOHC
Closed Deck, Forged internals including pistons. Ported and polished intake and exhuast, as well as port matched intake and exhaust manifolds. Factory Blueprinted and a 7500 red line.

Engine Ran great until it developed a slight rod knock. I stopped driving it immediatly, so no crank damage.
The bores look perfect. Almost no signs of wear.
I have new bearings and a full HG kit.

Trade for an EJ22T in the same condition? Oil pressure dropped low about 5 miles from home, first heard the knock about 2 blocks from home, parked it and swapped the engine later. Would that help you sponsor your project?

What else would you want? How about one good EJ205 head, and a damaged EJ205 head :D?

The one and a half heads is tempting :lol: I would prefer EJ25 DOHC heads.
The fact is I still love this motor. But in the back of my head I know I would be just as happy with something else. So Im giving the members of this board a chance to own a piece of subaru history and the epitome of Legacy Performance.
And I do have a conscience, I do feel the engine should be in a BC.
If I dont get any really tempting offers I will keep it, and continue to drive the hell out of it. :-D

I agree, this engine belongs in a BC. I'm a little perturbed that Matt is looking to put his in a BD, but it's better than an Impreza.

Well what else do you want? Money? Parts? Sexual favors?

Thats a tough one. It would definatly depend on how much bartering is done. Like I said if I could get enough to build a decent EJ22t DOHC, I would be content.

Do you have the intake manifold? i would trade you a set of DOHC 2.5L heads+money. I have the means to rebuild a set for you also.

Yes I would include Block, Heads, Intake and exhaust manifold and Gold AWIC.

Do you have an Intake for those heads? Also what year are the heads?

Now the question that really begs to be asked is, why don't you set the Ej20 block on the back shelf and mate the RS-RA heads to an Ej22T block? That really seems the way to get your goal and still keep the RS-RA.

BTW,
I think it's funny Thawa razzes me for putting mine in a BD, but this one has been in a BG and never a peep of disapproval from anyone... :lol:

I dont think that combination would work for me. One, the comp ratio would be a bit low. Two, the large ports of the Ra would probobly never make as much low-end as the NA 2.5 Heads.

and maybe they dont bug me about it being in a BG because they like me more :P

I never said I approve of his engine being in a BG, infact I feel it's worse than it being in a BD.

Either way, it's better than an Impreza.
