So, I've just moved into a new home and have no idea how to set up my garage. I was thinking that some example pictures would help, plus I'm fairly curious as to what your garages look like anyway. I guess the garage is one of those presumed things that people don't normally talk about on the forum, at least not in detail, so this should be interesting.

You need some shelving right away. You can build your own, anchored to the studs behind the sheetrock. But with the price of lumber it is probably more cost effective to buy shelving. Go to Home Depot, or Lowe's for example. I bought shelving that has a steel frame with particle board shelves and it is very strong. You can configure it different ways. I have one set up with five levels, 48" w X 24" deep. Another set I have set up is like a work bench, 96" W X 36" deep, two levels. They cost around $85 each set. Shelveing is a good place to start that way you get your stuff off the floor and organized. Have fun.
