Hey, just wondering if anyone has clocked a legit 0-60 time for a stock or nearly stock for our turbo legacy's??? And for the hell of it, if anyone has time their non-stock car, post your times! :-D

I have never clocked a "legit" 0-60 time.

My best non legit time was sub 6 seconds. Once. Involving nitrous.

Right about now I am about a best of 7 seconds. Thats 150 whp ish....

Right now, mine takes a little over 10 seconds to get to 60mph. When its running right, I'd hazard a guess that it's 0-60mph in low 4's. Who knows if it will ever run right again though.

Dan, how does it take over 10 seconds to get to 60mph, making your 0-60 in the low 4's?

From a dig, I get to the top of 2nd in right at about 5 seconds. I spend a lot less time shifting than most do, though.

Hmm, I'm gonna try to time my car today.

Ok, well I was just skimming through the
Car & Driver review of the 91' legacy turbo that is on the main legacycentral site under Car Reviews, they claimed that it " sprints from zero to 60 in 7.9 seconds"... I know for a fact it doesnt take my car 8 seconds!!! But I also have about 50hp over a stock t-leg...

Sorry if I wasn't clear, The way the car is running now, I estimate it takes over 10 seconds if not more to get to 60mph.

When the car was running correctly, it took pretty much no time at all with the t3/t4 hitting 18psi. I haven't done too many 5k rpm launches though as I value the transmission.

Is your turbo dead? Mine does about 10 now. I pulled 8 flat with the original motor.

Turbo could be dieing, the airfilter in the fender has picked up all kinds of crap. I'm suprised the car still runs, I guess thats how tough subaru's are.

Lol, nice.

Built tranny was the best thing I ever did to improve 0-60 times.

timed with a video I took of my silver wagon with the "done up" motor. 0-60 in 6.7 secs

right click save as http://www.thawa.net/gallery/albums/alb ... h_text.wmv

The video shows my calcs up to 115mph, the avcr reads in kph so I did some conversions.

Also for some reason on the vid I did 7 secs to 100 kph @62.14mph, doing some math I get that 60mph is 6.7 secs...

p.s. for those of you who havent seen this vid enjoy my ces exhaust

i have vids of my car doing 0-60 in about 11seconds. 10 seconds with the turbo hitting 15psi. silly automatic. with a full brake stand going to 3000 on a launch is about 8.5 senconds to 60

Currently, my 0-60 is estimated a best of about 6.5. Taken off a 14.897 at 90.32 1/4 mile info.

Here is a calculator

http://www.tweak3d.net/videos/calcs/sixty.shtml

According to it, you need to do a 14.6 1/4 mile at 93.8 mph to get a 5.96 0-60' time. Give or take.

More info.

According to my 1/8 mile times, I am 6.36 0-60' time....

http://www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php

But......

If you go off of your 60' times, I am 4.6 or 0-60 mph time.

And actually, I suspect the 60' time is going to give a more accurate because, at least for me, I really don't have much power up top. I can rip it to the 330' line, but after that I really start to lose it.

The following table is a generallity.

2.3 second 60' time = 35.5 mph @60' = 7.0 second 0-60 time
2.2 second 60' time = 37.1 mph @60' = 6.5 second 0-60 time
2.1 second 60' time = 38.9 mph @60' = 5.9 second 0-60 time
2.0 second 60' time = 40.9 mph @60' = 5.2 second 0-60 time
1.9 second 60' time = 43.0 mph @60' = 4.6 second 0-60 time
1.8 second 60' time = 45.5 mph @60' = 4.0 second 0-60 time
1.7 second 60' time = 48.1 mph @60' = 3.4 second 0-60 time
1.6 second 60' time = 51.1 mph @60' = 2.9 second 0-60 time
1.5 second 60' time = 54.5 mph @60' = 2.2 second 0-60 time
1.4 second 60' time = 58.4 mph @60' = 1.5 second 0-60 time
1.36 second 60' time = 60.0 mph @60' = 1.36 second 0-60 time
1.3 second 60' time = 62.9 mph @60' = 1.2 second 0-60 time
1.2 second 60' time = 68.1 mph @60' = 1.1 second 0-60 time
1.1 second 60' time = 74.3 mph @60' = 0.9 second 0-60 time
1.0 second 60' time = 81.8 mph @60' = 0.7 second 0-60 time

But you have to think about your gear ratios and powerband, you aren;t accelerating at the same rate in every gear.

For example, you wont be accelerating the same feet per second in 4th gear as you would in 1st gear. So you cant really judge your 0-60 time on how fast you traveled 60 feet.

Correct me if I am wrong, or totally misunderstanding your data vincent

Not my data, I just found it on a forum.

And without actaully measuring 0-60 times, I am just guessing with the two calculators, and this above data chart.

well, I clocked a very dissapointing 0-60 time yesterday. It was around 10 :? seconds w/ stock exhaust and only running about 9psi of boost because of an air leak. I atribute about 1 second to the delay of starting the clock and acceleration because I was timing it with my cellphone stopwatch with my right hand. Plus I suck at launching and I do have heavier rims/tires than stock. Oh, and it was also during the hottest part of the day.

I think I'll time it again in about a week when I get a bunch of stuff fixed.

I am kinda starting to believe the little chart I provided above. I got a 1.883 60' time tonight. WOW! What a fraking launch!

Don't miss 1st to 2nd at 6500 rpm! Other than that mine has held up great!

If you can get to a track and actually do a 1/4 mile while doing an agressive launch, you WILL know what your true 0-60 time is. Use the 1/8 mile calculators and you should be pretty close.

These numbers don't lie. If anything they are on the low end if you vehicle doesnt have alot of top end (like mine).

According to the calcs, my 0-60 is between 4-5 seconds. And damn it feels like it. But this is only on the drag strip. Even when I am not spraying nitrous, I tend to spin out on the street, where the traction isnt so hot, so I probably lose up to a second if I was trying to do a 0-60 launch on the street.
