New boost only best at the drag strip

So Nick and I showed up at PIR Late Night Drags in Portland last night.

Nick was kinda dissapointed with his times, expecting better, but the truth kinda hurts sometimes. He logged alot of low 15s until his last run which he managed a 14.8 at 92 (this may be edited later). I can't remember what his 60' time was but I know he finally managed to get a sub 2 second time. I am sure he will post up.

I got my best ever by launching HARD. I think I was revving as high as 5000 rpm. I got a best 1.910 60' time, and the final run of the night gave me a 14.897 at 90.32.

I had a real good time and didnt break anything, although I did blow off my intercooler pipe again on the first run of the night.

Hmmm. . . how's Nick's launch technique?

I am assuming pretty good since he did get one or two sub 2 second 60' times. I never got to watch him since I was usually pretty far back from him.

I am using the unsprung 6 puck Kennedy disk, Forester flywheel and 02 RS pressure plate. It pretty much acts like an OEM clutch. Heck, the wife drives it!

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed, but it was fun to see what the car can do. I was also only running 12 psi, so I think another few pounds of boost should take care of my slowness issues...

I did outlaunch a slightly modded 05 STi, so I was pretty happy about that!!

All in all a fun night, and we got Gabe's Turbo swapped rallycar running today :D

what rpm are you dumping the clutch at, how hard are you shifting into second, and have you noticed any bad stuff from your trans?
I launch at 4k and shift mine really hard a couple times a week or so and its starting to grind 3rd a bit and 2nd once or twice.

Since I dont have a turbo, I do not have to do the blip rev technique. I jam on gas on the 2nd orange up to about 4500-5000 and slip the clutch hard. Dumping the clutch is reserved for burnouts.

I "almost" flat shift. Shifting quick versus shifting FAST can easily take .5 of a second off the ET.

14.398 @ 94.28. About 11-12 psi of boost.

Was hoping for the 13.99 but I don't think its going to happen until I swap heads.
