So an sti driver was checking out my legacy today

So I get on the freeway and notice an sti a ways back. I got on a little aggressively, but not too bad. Next thing I know is he changes lanes and speeds up. As I'm cruising in the fast lane he comes up and drives beside and just behind me for a bit, then slowly passes me. I glanced over and he was seriously checking out my car.

Most STi drivers I go by ignore my car completely. So it was an out of the ordinary experience. :)

Some of us who own (or have owned) STis actually DO pay attention to other Subarus. The fact that I'm on the board should testify to that. ;)

I tend to get lots of waves, revs, and thumbs up when I'm in the Legacy. I think it's just been that I've been part of the scene for a while out here, plus my job, all of our customers know the car.

What's funny, is before last summer I rarely got waves.

I broke the oil return line and shat 4 quarts in the parking lot of a friends office. I borrowed his 05 LGT wagon to go home and get some oil and my friend. When I was driving that car, I got 3 waves on the way back to my house!

I was pulling off to get some gas on I-80 ona trip west but in my state, and at the insterstate gas station i pulled into, was a black STi, and he had the hood popped checking his sh** out. I popped my hood, to check the oil level, filled the gas, washed windows, he was still there under the hood. I thought about seeing if he needed anyhelp. anyways, he went in, and was eying over to my car, some kid, probably didnt even know there was a predecessor to his car. Anyways, I got on my way, and oi broke all 4 wheels loose.
Those guys with the newer cars, and MONEY, want our EJ22T blocks.

I've got a stupid question for you. How does one throw up the shocker? Is this some sort of Subaru gang sign we're supposed to be able to make with our hands, like the Crips and the Bloods have? I've never seen anything other than a wave....

If you don't know, we can't tell. :P

Most people who throw the shocker don't actually even know what it's referring to.

OK, fine. I'm going to start throwing random hand signals out my window at passing Scoobies until I discover The Shocker. This ought to be interesting.

Go Chris, go Chris.

Just think "two in the pink and one in the stink!" and you'll figure it out! . ;)

Was at a local car meet at a Burgermaster (think old-fashioned drive-in eating to show off cars) and I got a random guy in a truck asking about my car. It's still nearly stock, and he was quite curious about it.

I'm not complaining, just couldn't understand his fascination with it. :)

anyone heard of shockdrifting? There was a drift day out here in California at ThunderHill a few months back and there was a shock drifting rx-7. It's paint scheme centered on a pink hand making the shocker gesture witha little face like this:  hilarious....

Subaru guys have more of a claim to the shocker due to the color connection. Two in the Cherry Blossom Red and one in the stink! :-D
