Just got my wisdom teeth ganked.
So far, it's not too bad. Just a bit of tenderness. I responded really well to the anesthesia and I'm just chillin now.
This marks the start of 2 or so years of serious dental work. I'm not looking forward to it
I'm bored already, lol.

Fun huh? They knocked me out then cut em out before they cleared the surface. Had a nice fuzzy day with blood and cotton streaming out of my mouth lol.
Feel better soon Phil.

Dental work isn't something to be taken lightly, though. It's good you're on your way to a regiment of work to get your mouth in top-top shape. (This coming from the son of a woman who's managed and worked in the dental industry for 40 years)
I only had two wisdom teeth to begin with, and they were on the same side of my mouth . . . so my experience wasn't too bad. I was eating pizza that same evening on the other side of my mouth.

I only had 3. One impacted.
Next week I get braces (again) and 2 years from now, my jaw gets detached from my skull and positioned to align my teeth.
All of this pain for something that happened when I was 7.
Nap time though

I had all four of mine yanked in high school. They had to break the top two in half to get them out.
One plus was that they gave me lots of Vicoden

So far, I seem to have room for my wisdom teeth. No pain at all.

Man, I've been putting off getting mine pulled for years. All four of mine are all the way grown in but they have made my mouth too cramped and I've started getting crooked teeth, were as they used to be straight.
Good luck Phil. If the pain gets too bad, go down to 13th st in downtown DC and ask for Freaky Freddy. He'll fix you right up, you won't feel jack shit for daze......of course you'll be a junky riding the white horse, selling off you parts for 1/100 their actually value and eventually sucking di.....well, you get the idea.

Ooooo, two percocet DOES take care of the pain.
That's good

.
I had all the room for my wisdom teeth with how my teeth are now. But when I was little, I shattered my jaw in a sledding accident. So my jaw has been really tweaked since. In order to re-align them up, the wisdom teeth had to come out.

Percs work. I had some back pain once (lie) and took six of them with two shots of beam. I was so blasted I couldn't have sex.

my sister just got hers out a few weeks ago, and left me a 5 minute message of rambling nonsense apparently right after she got out of surgery.

Percocet is good shit.....however after 2 days, one pill didn't do squat for me when I had my wisdom teeth out.

i had 4 impacted ones for about 2 years. messed up my smile bigtime. never hurt but i had to reform my mouthguard every week to keep up with the movement. i need braces soon.
day after i got mine out though, i went white water rafting on the snake river. adreniline is one helluva pain killer.

I remember getting them out last year. In fact, I believe I was posting here when I was high on the drugs they were giving me for it....
The day after I had them out, I was out working on the car heh heh...

I had to get 3 of 4 broken to get them out. Not sure why, but that makes it worse pain-wise. I just got a local and drove home afterwards. Guy did 3 in 25 mins. And $1200. Not bad work for basically hand tools and some novacain. I thought I could endure the pain without pills and held off on the prescription as the novacain still held. By 10PM I was very very wrong. Glad for 24 hr. pharmacy. Don't know how people used to do it hundreds of years ago. Opium, I guess. Lots and lots of opium.

F that is all I have to say about getting mine pulled, so what if only one is at a 45 degree angle against the other one. Nothing hurts, nothings bent outta shape= no reason to get them pulled. Not to mention I hate going to the dentist.
Last time I went, nurse lady says "those are the nicest teeth ive seen in a while" Dentist comes in, "oh your gonna need braces" bunch of BS.

If they get impacted, eventually a sist forms around the tooth. Then it rots out and you'll be in serious pain, and they'll still have to go in there and yank them out, one way or another. My buddy put it off forever (he's a putz like that) and now his smile is fubared.

I got Vicoden and Ibuprofen when I had mine taken out. Apparently you aren't supposed to take both at the same time. Oh well, it killed the pain and made work bearable.

When I had mine out, I was fighting with my mother. Apparently when I was under anaesthesia, I said a buncha shit, and really pissed her off. I have no recollection of any such conversation, but the fighting continued post-op. I had only been sleeping about 3hrs afterward, and I wasn't tired anymore, and I wasn't in any pain (despite the fact that mom flushed all 15 of my percocets down the toilet.) So I got in my car and drove off to my uncle's house! Hahah, mom called the dentist as I left the driveway, absolving them of any liability, saying it was all my fault anyway.
At my uncles' house, I cooked and ate the BEST steak of my life. True story.

If your wisdom teeth are f'd up they can ruin your other teeth (all moved forward on my bottom jaw), cause cavities, or infections and even nerve damage depending on how they come in.
