After accidently taking the leg for a swim... ...the electrics( lights & accessorys) worked in the water and on the ride home, but after drying my scoob out, over the period of a week.

I go to pump the water out of the cylinders by cranking the engine and its as if a sudden short accurred I loose power to the windows, accessorys, dash and cannot hear the fuel pump cycling any more, but the door ajar beebing is consistant.

I am almost certain of some kind of short circuit but would appriciate comments and opinions

did you check the fuses?

you blew a main fuse.

Very true. Vikash and were putting my car back together after a clutch install and I had unplugged the ECU and the entire fuse block when I had to do some arc welding on it.

Well, we put everything back together except plugging back in the entire fuse block! Yep, door light works and the door chime dings...

Good to know if you ever get into a massive accident that kills everything in the car, the dome light will light your way and you will not forget your keys.

I think both of those are only fused at the main link in the firewall harness. Both items will fry before they draw enough current to fry anything else.
