Bella Mackenzie Barnes born 5-16-06 @ 9:26 am. 8lbs 13oz 21 inches. A big girl!

The baby was too big for a vaginal birth so my wife had to have a c-section though. She's (my wife) doing very good and came through like a champ. It was scary though because of my wifes medical history. She himmoraged (sp?) back in '02 and came very close to dieing. She was pretty freaked out about this. She did have some excessive bleeding after the c-section too but they got it under control and she came out fine. It scared the hell out of my wife though and brought back the memories of what she went through before.

So the baby is healthy, ten fingers, ten toes, and my wife is doing great, although the next 6 weeks are going to be very difficult.

Pics hopefully soon!

Remember, you will now become the proponent of young girls wearing burkas until the age 18. I am! I fear the day my daughter starts dating!

Thanks so much everyone! She's so beautiful! I'm one proud poppa!

This is my second daughter and I've already told my wife they aren't dating....period.

*sigh* I try to be a cool understanding father though....so I'm just going to scare the hell out of boy they bring home!

Congratulations Matt!! I'm glad everything turned out alright.

And when they reach dating age, just hold onto the leggy and take potential boyfriends for a ride arround some of those corners in your area. Then explain to them that you can strap them to the bumper and take another pass if they do anything remotely inappropriate. that's a cool dad. :D

Congratulations my friend. I guess it's OK that you didn't name her Phil.

If you need help scaring off potential boyfriends, I can play a mean drunk uncle...

Good to hear that Jen is doing well too. Tell her I wish her a speedy recovery.

Also make sure to be sitting in your recliner, polishing your shotgun, when she brings any new boyfriends home. Did wonders for the behavior of the guys that dated my friend back in the day.

Speaking of being a hard core father...
One of my friends just asked his girlfriend's dad for permission to propose. The father interrogated my friend for two hours including numerous death threats. My friend was scarred S-less for days.

Excellent, Matt!

My sister just dropped out her second kid and it was a little premature. It's been on oxygen for the last week, but I guess that's pretty normal nowadays and it looks like it will be fine.

Thanks again guys. :D

Steve- Yeah, we wanted to induce early but they wouldn't let us because of that very reason. If they are earlier then 38 weeks then their lungs can be under developed.
