Turbine clipping

I'm looking Deadbolt's TD05-16g turbos.

I told them my mods, and they recommended with the 3" exhaust that I get the turbine wheel clipped, which wouldl offer more resistance to boost creep with the free-flow exhaust system.

I have done any major research, but obviously clipping the turbine wheel you lose something....what do you lose, and do others have specific experience with a clipped turbine wheel?

cliping is always a bad idea. if you need to clip the turbine wheel then you are either running to small of a turbine housing or to small a wastegate. clipping is a band-aid to fix these problems. If boost creep is an issue, run a larger turbine.
