So ive recently been getting a squeeking sound coming from the front drivers side of my motor. It has been getting progressivly worse and has started to concern me that it may be my water pump. My gripe with this is that the pump and belt were replaced shortly before i bought the car (have a reciept from some shop that did it).
Now as you can see in this picture, one of the pulleys has worn through the center t-belt cover due to rubbing from improper installation of the cover. Now am i correct in assuming this is the water pump pulley? Would this friction on the pulley cause the bearing to go on the pump? If so would this be something i can take back to that shop and bitch them out about?
Also this has got me thinking about replacing all the idler pulleys just as a precaution. What are my options in replacing these without spending a buttload of money? Any way to service and repack them?

I'd be willing to bet that the squeaking is from the idler pulley...
