The one has a intercooler and the other one doesn't. I wonder which team one.

These cars were done on the show hosted by Andrew Comrie-Picard. he is a member here (goes by musketeerracing).

he has a pretty nice legacy turbo, in addition to his EVO IV rally car.

it also appears that only the pink one has a roll cage.

Oh, so those are from the show that he was asking members from here to appear on? That's pretty cool. Was anyone from here on the show?

The roll cage is "cosmetic"

The IC is a way more useful feature.

i stand corrected.

i dont go into the ashtray too often, sorry i missed your post.

that was a hell of a crew they put together.

i am really surprised that there wasnt more hype about this on the other rally forums. there are some big names in there.

what tyoe of cage did you guys put in it?

Think it was listed as "20 guage steel, cosmetic only" in the ebay listing..If someone wanted to build either one of those into a stage rally car they'd need a proper cage..1.75"x.095 wall DOM

that's even thinner wall than what we use for gusset material (usually 18ga).

I could have went too, but it was the $ and time off work to do it..maybe another time..

The cars look great though, and what a list of competitors.. :D

Ok the reason we had them write that was because before we got to the "studio" they told us there was a tube bender there... and there was none...
So I came up with a little desing for a bender using two brake rotors welded face to face. To make it a little bit easier, we use the torch to heat up the tubing. The tubing is legal. But this two technic worked but rendered the cage illegal for competion. I have no doubt it would resist a roll, but not a big crash.
BTW, it's just a main hoop, not a full cage.

Right, so to be straight, that's not a cage that would be legal for any rally events. It would probably be legal for rallycross (where they don't require any cage) but even that would be subject to a safety inspection.

Not saying it's a bad car or a bad deal, it's very cool, but let's make sure everybody understands.

Love the bender idea, very crafty! :-D Might have to try and make a "bender" for fun..

Way to be industrious.
