Help

Just swapped a auto engine into a manual, and I wonder if I have managed to get the starters confused.

Which way round is it?

Short nose starter= Auto/MT
Long nose starter=Auto/MT

Thanks

Problem is that the starter just clicks but only sometimes spins the engine. Have had the starter re-built, works fine on the bench. But stilll the same in the car???

The manual tranny starter = short (1.0 kw)
The Auto tranny starter = long (1.4 kw, also has screws in body of motor).

Check the solenoid, good luck.

Found my own problem.

Voltage drop down the signal wire to the starter.

Could'nt be bothered to find the problem in the loom so I wired in a relay and all is well. 8)

However.....I have the long nose starter in a manual.....and it works
